Meet Veda, the sweetest girl who’s ready for her forever home! Veda is a happy dog with a loveable personality. She is very affectionate and snuggles up to be petted or brushed. She’s friendly with everyone and gets along great with the resident dog and cats and easily shares her space with them. She greets people with adorable booty wiggles and sweet kisses but doesn’t jump up. Veda loves to retrieve items from around the house--dog toys, cat beds, pillows, gallon jugs of water--and present them to her favorite cat or create a shrine of found objects.

With her calm and easy-going temperament, Veda would be a perfect fit for nearly any home. She is quiet and rarely barks. She is very playful but not a high-energy dog. She likes being outside in all kinds of weather and is especially excited by snow, which gives her the zoomies. She enjoys playing fetch in the yard and going on long walks. She’s a scent-motivated hunting breed, though, so hold tight to her leash when she catches a scent. She especially loves running full-out when off leash and then comes when called. Her good recall may be an indication of past training as a hunting dog. After some exercise, she’s ready to relax in the house and chew on her toys or nap.

Veda came to rescue very underweight, and she needs to be fed three times a day to maintain her healthy weight gain. Veda is mostly house-trained but does need frequent outings to avoid having a pee accident in the house. She may be behind on her pottying skills due to her prior living situation. She is beginning kennel training to help her learn to avoid accidents.
