Paeton is doing well in her foster home. She is very sweet but also very shy and timid. Having a loving, inside home is something new for her.
Her foster family is working with her by being patient and hoping she will come out of her shell. She wags her tail more every day!
Paeton is fully potty trained and doesn’t make a single peep in her crate. She goes in her crate at night and when her foster family is away.
She is not really interested in toys yet but is finding some joy in treats. Her foster family has two kids and one very spicy kitty. Paeton is gentle with the children and as of now just avoids the cat. She would be fine with other cats and dogs with slow introductions.
Current nicknames include: Pate, Patey Pate, and P
Update on Paeton! (9-3-24)
I’ve been in my foster home for almost one month now. I’ve started showing a little bit of my silly side. I love to be outside and roll in the grass. I also really enjoy going on a walk. My human foster siblings are my favorite and all the neighborhood kids.
The spicy cat and I coexist, she pretends that she wants to be my friend but always quickly changes her mind.
I am in my crate when my family is gone and when it’s bedtime. I also go in there other times as well because I feel safe in there.
I would do best in a home with another friendly dog. This will help me by showing me I do not have to be timid and teaching me to love life and have fun. Currently, I can not be off leash at all and am a considered a flight risk in new environments, as I look for areas to escape due to my shyness.
